Policies and Procedures cont...

Any use or possession of alcohol, recreational drugs, drug paraphernalia, unauthorized prescription medications, whether held on a lodger’s person or within the home, including visitors, is strictly prohibited. 

Possession of deadly weapons or explosives of any kind within the home is strictly prohibited. 

Theft of, or reckless or intentional misconduct with respect to, the property of others is strictly prohibited. 

Lodgers must maintain an active program of recovery. Maintaining an active program of recovery may consist of but is not limited to: 

Holding everyone in the house accountable for their actions and whereabouts.

Engaging with a twelve-step fellowship home group where the lodger contributes beyond mere attendance (e.g., helping set up meetings, cleaning before/after meetings, greeting newcomers, providing recovery information). 

Participating in recovery activities and functions. 

Socializing with people in recovery outside of twelve-step meetings. 

Lodgers must attend a minimum of four outside 12-step meetings per week. Lodgers must have weekly sponsor contact. The sponsor must be approved by DalMont Phoenix Foundation. Lodgers must have weekly service/12-step work. 

Lodger must participate in all home meetings as set by DalMont Phoenix Foundation. 

Be courteous and considerate when using any TV, radio, stereo, and other similar devices. 

Threats, violence, physical or other abuse toward any other lodger, visitor, or DalMont Phoenix Foundation representative are strictly prohibited. 

Be mindful and respectful of others' work, meditation and sleep schedules. 

No lying around or sleeping all day. Lodgers must be up by 9:00 a.m. 

Allowing guests is at the discretion of DalMont Phoenix Foundation. Guests who have recently relapsed or been discharged from other sober houses or treatment centers are not allowed to visit until sobriety has been maintained for at least 30 days. 

Guests are not allowed in lodger rooms at any time. 

Guests must remain in common living areas. 

No overnight guests are allowed at any time. 

Overnight passes/permission: Not coming home will result in discharge. 

Lodgers shall process overnight stays in advance with DalMont Phoenix Foundation. 

Last-minute notifications to stay elsewhere/off the premises will not be accepted (unless due to unforeseen emergency) and can result in immediate discharge. 

All lodgers will be accountable to each other and to DalMont Phoenix Foundation regarding whereabouts at any given time. 

Home meetings 

All lodgers are required to attend all home meetings and in-house Big Book studies.

House meetings will be every Sunday at 2:00 p.m. 

All lodgers shall keep the home and their individual spaces clean and neat. 

Weekly cleaning chores (including lawn/yard care in summer, shoveling/snow removal in winter) will be assigned by DalMont Phoenix Foundation and must be completed before the following week’s home meeting. 

Keep personal items out of common areas. 

Keep personal space clean, neat, and presentable at all times. A clean room includes bed made, clothes and items off the floor, trash discarded, and no open food, dishes, or empty food packaging in the room. 

Shared spaces/common areas are the responsibility of all house members. Clean up after yourself. If something needs cleaning that is not assigned, do it and discuss with DalMont Phoenix Foundation if necessary to add to the chores list. 

Dishes are not to be left in the sink. Do your dishes after you use them. 

No locks are allowed on bedroom doors. 

Food and Meals: 

Each lodger is responsible for supplying their own food, meals, condiments, etc. Lodgers must label any and all food or it will be thrown out. 

Do not eat other people’s food. Eating food or using items not yours or provided specifically by the home is grounds for discharge. 

Meals should be eaten in kitchen/dining areas. 

Eating in bedrooms or other areas of the home is not allowed. 

Food shall be stored appropriately in the kitchen, basement, or unopened food in containers in the bedroom. Open foods that can attract rodents or bugs, cannot be stored in rooms. 

Lodgers must ensure that any and all food is not expired or moldy. If food is expired or moldy, DalMont Phoenix Foundation can dispose of it.
